Project 28 MO
Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in Missouri

The Equal Rights Amendment (E.R.A.) is one state away from reaching the required 38 states needed to ratify the amendment.

Section 1: Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Section 2: Congress and the several States shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Section 3: This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.

Project 28 MO is working to make the E.R.A. the 28th Constitutional Amendment.

The ERA clarifies that tokens will not suffice. It calls upon Congress and state legislatures to undertake
earnestly, systematically, and pervasively, the law revision long overdue. And in the event of legislative
default, the Amendment arms the judiciary with an unassailable basis for applying the bedrock principle:
All men and all women are guaranteed by the Constitution equal justice under law.
